Business Cards are the identity that you hand over to the other person. Just imagine, whenever the person wants to contact you, what will be the first thing he or she sees? Yes, your business card.

Here are the things you must remember when you are ordering your business cards –

Quality - Go in for the best quality that you can afford but totally avoid metal cards. Metal Business Cards may look cool but they can get you detained at airports and other places with metal detectors. Also, DO NOT print your own cards — use a professional printing service.

Size - Make sure you follow the standard size — that is, 9 cm in width and 5 cm in height. Over-sized cards may get you some immediate attention but they are a pain in “you-know-what” to keep. You don’t ever want the other person to go through that.

Looks - Try to make it stand-out while keeping it simple and professional. Don’t cram too much information on it or use extremely big type-face. Don’t print pictures — especially your own — on your business card. It should have just your name, contact information and address.

Also, it is a good idea to get a business card holder. I have one in shape of a briefcase — and it looks really sweet when you take it out in front of someone.
